Charles A. Allen, age 78, a retirned farmer and miner and life resident of Fountain County, died at 12:45 a.m. today (June 12, 1962) at his home on Kingman Rt 1. He had been ill for four years. born Jan 19, 1884, in Wabash Twp, he was a son of John and Mary Catherine (Hankins) Allen. He was married Sept 28, 1906 to Clara Shoemaker who preceded him ind eath Aug 19 1947. Surviving are 9 children: Gerald of Yarnell, Az; Mrs. Madeline Richardson of Veedersburg; Mrs. Pauline Meadows of Stuebenville Oh; Mrs. Fauniel Colson of Hillsboro; Mrs. Catherine Muston of Zionsville, Ind; Mrs. Behevene Young of Sparks, NV; Harold j. of Kingman Rt 1; Mrs. Frances Rodgers of Zionsville and Mrs. Wildis Green of San Diego, Calif; Also 8 brothers and sisters, George of Kingman Rt 2; Mrs. Clara Merryman of Waynetown; Willard of Covington Rt 1 and Zimmie of Covington Rt 1; Mrs. Hester Woodrow of Covington Rt 1; Mrs. Nina Tanner of Hillsboro; Noah of Covington Rt 1 and Mrs. M! ay Jones of Kingman Rt 1; 23 grandch and 12 greats. He was preceded in death by four brothers. He was a member of Cooeprs Chapel Evangelical United Brethren Church. The body is at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington where friends may calla fter 5 p.m. tomorrow. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery.
